How the Calculation Works
The calculator uses the formula: New Gross Salary = (Current Basic Pay × Fitment Factor) + HRA
Where HRA is calculated as a percentage of the new basic pay based on your city classification:
- X Class (Metro cities): 30% of basic pay
- Y Class (Tier 2 cities): 20% of basic pay
- Z Class (Other cities): 10% of basic pay
Note: Dearness Allowance is assumed to be zero initially as it will be recalculated after implementation of the 8th Pay Commission.
